Roofing is physical, skilled work. You’re up early, you’re solving problems with your hands, and at the end of the day you can look at what you built. That’s the job. At Birchbark Roofing, the part that’s different is how the job gets run: written prices before any work starts, drop cloths on every visit, a photo of the clean-up before the crew leaves, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise stamped on every project. You’re not just putting shingles on a roof. You’re representing a standard that the homeowner is counting on. If that’s the kind of work you want to do, we’d like to talk.
Who We’re Looking For
- Roofing Installer – The person who can read a roof, work a ridge line, and leave a clean edge at the end of a long day.
- Roofing Apprentice – Someone newer to the trade who shows up ready to learn and doesn’t mind working hard while they do it.
- Roof Repair Technician – Detail-oriented, good at diagnosing what’s actually failing, and honest enough to say when the fix needs to be more than a patch.
- Lead Installer / Crew Lead – An experienced roofer who can run a crew, hold the standard on every detail, and be the person the homeowner trusts on-site.
- Dispatcher / Scheduler – The organizer who keeps crews moving, customers informed, and the day from unraveling when something changes last minute.
- Customer Service Representative – A calm, clear communicator who can answer a worried homeowner’s question at 8 p.m. and sound like they mean it – because every call at Birchbark is answered by a live person, and that person needs to be you.
What We Offer
A Real Path, Not Just a Job
We train apprentices on the job, working alongside experienced installers on GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral materials. The path from apprentice to lead is real and it happens through consistent work, not seniority politics. If you want to grow in the trade, we want to help you do it.
Work You Can Be Proud Of
Every job runs under the Cedarwell Care Promise: shoe covers inside the house, drop cloths down before anyone opens a tool bag, a photo of the clean-up before the crew leaves. We use pet-safe product choices where they’re available. Homeowners notice this. So do the crews who work this way – it changes how the job feels. You’re not cutting corners, and no one is asking you to.
Local Crew, National Backing
Birchbark locations are independently owned and operated – you’re working with a local team, not getting managed by a call center in another state. At the same time, you have the backing of the Cedarwell family of companies behind you: systems that work, materials sourced from major manufacturers, and a brand built on the same care standard at every location since 2000.
Steady Demand
Roofs don’t fix themselves, and homeowners don’t wait long when water is getting in. Roof repair and replacement work has stayed consistent through conditions that have slowed down a lot of other trades. This is work that keeps moving, and Birchbark keeps its crews working.
No Experience? Read This.
If you’ve swung a hammer on a job site, framed a wall, worked a construction crew, or just spent years fixing things around the house because you’re the kind of person who figures it out – some of that transfers more than you might think. Reading a roofline, loading material safely, working at height with care, communicating clearly on a job site: those are learnable skills, and we teach them. What we can’t teach is showing up on time, taking direction without attitude, and caring whether the work is done right. If you already have that, the first few months will be a training period where you’re working alongside a lead, learning materials, and building the hands-on experience that makes a roofer. Apprentices who stick with it move up. That part is straightforward.
How to Apply
Call us at (424) 766-4937 – a live person will pick up – or fill out the contact form below. Let us know where you’re based, what kind of work you’ve done before (roofing or otherwise), and when you’re available to start. Hiring happens locally, so you’ll be connected with the Birchbark location nearest you. We’ll take it from there.
